Well, the SA champs came and went - we tried our best but our best wasn't good enough .... we ended 28th (Ozz), 29th (Dazzle) and 30th (Baloo) out of the 31 dogs taking part.
Here is a video of two of the four rounds - the Contact Agility on the Friday where Baloo had 24,58 penalties, Dazzle 18,62 penalties and Ozz 17,21 penalties, and the Non-Contact on the Saturday where Baloo had an elimination at the last jump, Dazzle 23,72 penalties and Ozz 27,28 penaties.
I felt like a real failure in the ring as things went from bad to worse, but decided to follow Susan Garrett's advice: "When you lose, don't lose the lesson". Another helpful quote is "Failure is merely the opportunity to try again, this time more intelligently".
Baloo at 11 years old is due to be retired from Agility very soon, and I love Dazzle to bits but do not expect wonders from him. Ozz is very young, still only two years old, and I feel he is showing a lot of potential. So, to all my fellow Agility competitors - watch out for this girl and her crazy, hyper-active Aussie in the future because .... "We'll be back", with a vengeance :-)
